Terms of service
Effective August 18, 2026 · Honor & Keep is a product of IdaMil LLC, a Virginia limited liability company.
The one thing to understand before anything else
Honor & Keep is self-help software. We are not a law firm, we are not your attorney, and nothing this product produces is legal advice. The product helps you organize a process and prepare documents whose contents you select and control — the same category of help a form book from a library gives, organized better. No attorney-client relationship is formed by using it. If you need legal advice — and estates with conflict, insolvency, business interests, or out-of-state property often do — the plan itself will tell you so, and you should speak with a licensed attorney in your state.
What you're buying, and what it costs
Consumer purchases are one-time, per estate, at the prices published on the pricing page — never a subscription for a bereaved family and never a percentage of the estate. Professional plans for people who handle estates for a living are annual subscriptions, because their need recurs. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
Refunds
Every purchase has a 30-day refund, no questions asked. Email us and it's done. That means an email to john@idamil.com within 30 days of purchase — no form, no reason required, no arguing. Professional subscriptions can be cancelled any time and are refunded pro-rata in the first 30 days.
Your data is yours
You can export everything the product holds about your estate at any time, and you can delete the estate permanently at any time — both from the estate's Settings tab, no email required. Deletion is real deletion of the estate's records, not a soft hide. The details of what we store and how are in the privacy policy.
What we ask of you
Use your own account, tell the truth in documents you prepare (a false statement in an affidavit is perjury — the product reminds you of this where it matters), and don't use the product to manage an estate you have no lawful role in. Accounts used to harass institutions or people can be closed.
Accuracy, and its limits
We verify the statutes, thresholds, and official links we cite against primary sources, we publish every source on the sources page, and we mark anything unverified as draft guidance. Laws change, institutions change their processes, and we can be wrong. The product is a map, not the territory: confirm current requirements with the official source before you rely on any figure, and the product's own interface tells you the same.
Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, our liability for anything arising from your use of the product is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for decisions institutions or courts make, for deadlines missed, or for consequential losses. Some jurisdictions don't allow parts of this limitation, in which case it applies to the extent permitted.
Housekeeping
These terms are governed by Virginia law. We may update them; material changes get a dated note here, and continued use after a change is acceptance. If a court finds part unenforceable, the rest stands. Questions to john@idamil.com — a person reads that inbox.
Candor note: these terms were drafted in plain language on purpose and have not yet been reviewed by outside counsel. If something here worries you, ask us — we'd rather explain than hide behind boilerplate.
